Why I am Running for the 4th District County Commission Seat

My name is Warren Mackey and I am running for re-election to the 4th District County Commission seat because I can continue to provide proven, effective leadership for ALL of the people who live in the district. I am a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and I have lived in the County all of my adult life. I grew up on Riverside Drive which is in the district and I attended Riverside High School. Many of my classmates still reside in the community and they trust me and support my candidacy. I have been an active member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church, which is located in the district, for over twenty years where I am a deacon in the church. Many of the church members live in the district and in my service there I have come to know their issues and concerns. My employment as a professor of history at Chattanooga State, which is in the district, has afforded me the opportunity to get to know many, many residents who live in the district and in the city. I have talked with people of all persuasions and listened to their concerns. Many of the merchants, especially those who do business on Highway 58, know of my efforts to get the residents in the district to shop in the district and to be sensitive to their needs.

I believe that not only will the people of the 4th District benefit from my continued service on the County Commission but also the whole County. My life intersects with people throughout Hamilton County. When Hamilton Countians consider how important the 4th District is, all will agree that top notch leadership is of vital importance. So many critical components of the county are located here: the whole Amnicola Highway corridor with Chattanooga State along with manufacturing and distribution concerns are here. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is located in the district. Erlanger Hospital and the historic Fortwood neighborhood is here. The downtown business district and the North shore in which so much of our economic hub exists here. Many of the sites where our recreational activities take place are here — Booker T. Washington State Park, Coolidge Park, AT&T Park and Finley Stadium. Not only have I lived in the community that I want to represent on the Hamilton County Commission but I have also been an active participant in serving the people in several capacities

I ask that everyone in Hamilton County step in and do everything that they can to make sure that I am re-elected as Commissioner to represent the 4th District. I ask those of you who can vote for me to please do so. I ask you to call those persons that you know that live in the district to vote for me. Take someone to the polls for me. Call your friends and tell them that you support me. Please send me a campaign donation to help keep me in office. I will continue to represent the interests of the whole district in a professional way. I will continue to represent your interest and fight for you before the Commission.
