  • 12.2% of Hamilton county residents live below the poverty line.

    • 30.7% of 55-64 year olds

    • 26.3% of Black people

    • 24.5% of Hispanic and Latinex people

    • 19.4% of children under 18

  • Women are more likely than men to live below the poverty line.

Our economy is hurting and those who are experiencing this hardship the most are the marginalized. We can do better.

When I think about economic development, I think about more than just the creation of jobs. I think about other issues we’re facing like the availability of housing, access to quality health care, good schools, parks, opportunities for higher education, and everything in between.

The things that make our communities more attractive and livable fit under the economic development umbrella.

It’s about creating a more vibrant community where people want to live and work. Where families have what they need to prepare the next generation of leaders. We have an opportunity to create that future and I want your help to make this a reality for Hamilton County.
