Do What’s Right: Redistricting is Non-Partisan

Mackey-Economic Development posts.png

Partisanship has no place in redistricting. Redistricting affects every person who lives, works or goes to school in Hamilton County including our children, our incarcerated, our immigrant populations and those who choose not to vote. Their lives are still impacted by redistricting and we have to take their needs into consideration.

Redistricting must be fair and equitable with transparency and openness. The choices we make as your elected officials impact every man, woman, child and non-binary person who makes Hamilton County their home.

When we think about the Hamilton County we want to create, we need to remember that every person in Hamilton county has a voice whether they vote or not, whether they own a home and pay taxes or rent.

Hamilton County is the envy of every other county in Tennessee. I have faith that we can find a way to make this work so that every citizen benefits.

We show families their worth by what we do and if the dias votes to keep redistricting lines as they are, what does that decision say to those families and districts who continue to suffer?

I am encouraged by the residents of Hamilton County calling for fair and equitable redistricting. I am inspired that residents are showing up from all areas of the county! Continue using your voices to share the vision for the Hamilton County you want to see.
